Learn to see like a photographer and go from taking snapshots to purposeful, well-composed images that reflect your personal vision. Master the buttons and dials on your camera and shoot in modes other than Auto. This course introduces participants to the creative and technical possibilities of digital photography. Topics include camera operation, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, and composition. New and experienced photographers are welcome.

*Please bring a digital camera that has a manual mode, DSLR, mirrorless, some point-and-shoots and a card reader

Create and wear your own hand wrought jewelry! In this 6 week class take a piece of silver from scratch and design and fabricate your very own ring with a cabochon (rounded stone) setting. Watch it all come together while learning soldering, bezel forming, and pierce and cut techniques, manipulating all those items into a beautiful piece of jewelry to treasure forever.

Beginner and advanced students welcome.

We will learn soldering, metal sawing and piercing, and other metalsmithing techniques. Enjoy the wonders of metals while creating a treasure to wear.

Luminous Luminary Workshop

You will use white porcelain clay and basic hand building techniques to make a beautiful ceramic luminary. Decorate it with stars, hearts, flowers or whatever shapes you prefer. Receive a free LED tea light to illuminate your creation when you pick up your fired piece! All experience levels are welcome.

*Students will need to make arrangements to pick up fired pieces two weeks after workshop.

Advanced Ceramics

Students with a firm foundation in basic technical skills will enjoy this class. Form, surface design, glazing, and firing will be explored in greater depth. Advanced students (with five sessions or the equivalent, or working at a level determined to be advanced by the instructor) will be required to do their own firing in cooperation with the Canton Ceramic Artists Guild in order to deepen their understanding of the total process.
