Homeschool Art History with Karan Knish

Each session includes an object-based visual literacy lesson in the galleries and an art-making experience led by a teaching artist in the studio classroom.  This program supports the Ohio homeschool curricula’s Fine Arts requirements.

Wet Felt Sunset Painting

In this fiber arts class, students will learn to create beautiful textile art inspired by summer sunsets. Using a  blend of water, soap, and soft wool roving, participants will capture the ephemeral beauty of the setting sun in a stunning piece of fuzzy, warm textile art.

Wood Burning: DIY Birdhouse

Learn the art of pyrography! Beginner to intermediate students learn to use a heated tool to burn designs onto a functional wooden birdhouse. Line weight, surface texture, various wood grains and finishes will be explored in this class. Students are provided with protective heat-safe gloves.

Glass Fusing for Kids

Students will explore different techniques to make their own glass design. They will learn basic glass cutting skills, composition and safety. Students must be able to wear safety goggles at all times in the glass studio, including those students who wear eyeglasses.Their glass will be fired in the kiln and available for pick up in approximately 2-3 weeks.

Printmaking with Nature
