Alpha Romeo Tango (ART) Program

FREE Art Classes for veterans, active duty service members, and members of the National Guard/Reserve.

Let ART inspire and connect you! This 10-week series of art classes focuses on drawing and hand-building clay, held at both the Military & First Responders Center and at the Canton Museum of Art. Sign up for a 4-week drawing series, a 6-week ceramics series — or BOTH! Registration is FREE, but required for capacity purposes.

ART is aimed at using the creative process for participants to be inspired, relax, express themselves as they want, and have a finished work of art to reflect upon with pride. ART’s clay and drawing classes allows participants to feel connected, to feel like they belong to a larger community of learners — and through art, to feel like they can share their stories.

ART is led by artist, teacher, and military spouse, Susan Mentrak. Susan is a ceramic artist and illustrator born and raised in Ohio. She graduated with a degree in Illustration from The Columbus College of Art and Design. She devotes herself to learning, developing, and sharing her expertise in clay and drawing.

Session 2 (Spring 2025): 1/8 - 3/12
Community Exhibit Celebration: 4/4

Spring Drawing classes will be held on 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, and 1/29  from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Military & First Responders Center in Louisville.

Spring Clay classes will be held on 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, and 3/12 from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Canton Museum of Art.

All Spring classes will culminate in a Community Exhibit Celebration at the Canton Museum of Art on Friday, April 4, 2025. Enjoy light refreshments and artwork from participants.
